I intend to keep writing Christmas songs. There's still a lot more about Christmas that can be captured and feel like old-time Christmas. A lot of the traditions haven't been explained in song.
I was really exposed to great old-time literature - the classics, the poetic realists like Strindberg and Ibsen and all those guys. I was really inspired by all those guys. That's when writing became a primary focus.
I do covers for CDs and LPs of music that I like, reissues of old-time music, and then I'm inspired to make some kind of drawing based on this love of the music. I don't do album covers or CD covers for groups or musicians I don't like or have no interest in.
In the olden days, a couple could be in every movie together, but it's just not like that anymore.
My parents separated before I was 1 year old. I moved in with my aunt and uncle when I was in fourth grade. I was, like, 8 or 9 years old. I was getting in a lot of trouble when I was in Southern California. My older sisters were in gangs. My older brother was in gangs.
I was a tomboy who liked to play rough just like my two older brothers. That's probably why I liked the athletic part of skating - especially the jumping!
I feel like we can learn from each other by us, being the young generation, giving knowledge to the older guys.
I guess there are some women who like older men, but it's a smaller group.
It's still a mystery to me, but even though my mother was like an older sister to me, I kind of put her up on a pedestal.
I do like beauty, but an older woman can be beautiful and a clever woman is beautiful because that beauty shines through.
Market research shows that older women like seeing older women in ads, and that younger women do, too - because they see them and are not frightened of growing older.
I like to describe myself as a proudly visible member of the most invisible segments of our society - older women.
I grew up listening to oldies, like Motown. That's from my mom.
Guys like Ole Anderson, Gene Anderson, Mad Dog Vachon, Johnny Valentine. I love them to death. I'll love them forever.
Nobody makes movies like Oliver Stone.
For 'Iron Man' I had to improv with Robert Downey Jr., which is like going up against LeBron in basketball. At one point he stopped and said, 'Can we give a round of applause to Olivia, because she's rocking it right now.'
There are lots of people I'd like to work with. It would be fun to be in a movie with Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen.
I've been training like an Olympian.
I was like, 'I don't know if I could be an Olympian...' But my dad really influenced me to stay and be in the Olympics.
But I like it when my patients are impressed not knowing that I was an Olympian.
