This is, perhaps, the most difficult of all mortifications to achieve a 'holy indifference' to the temporal success or failure of the cause to which one has devoted one's best energies. If it triumphs, well and good; and if it meets defeat, that also is well and good, if only in ways that, to a limited and timebound mind, are here and now entirely incomprehensible.
I think in life we sometimes subconsciously choose what we cant live without, to find that we can live without. It is just something we tell ourselves, because we don’t want to choose or to make a decision on what we say we can’t live without.
To lovers out there…. In a relationship you must give as much as you take or give more. You can’t always withdraw , without putting something in . You will exhaust your love balance and there won’t be anything left for you. Most relationship are running on negative balance, because one partner is only benefiting and receiving from the relationship without contributing.
And humans, who by my reasoning had less ground than I to think anything they did might matter in any real way, did far more. They traveled. They changed the landscape in large and small ways. They put plans in motion that they knew they would not see completed - plans that would benefit not them but their children and their grandchildren. When I - I had kept myself clear of dirt and leaves and snow. Perhaps the length of one's life was not important - except in the way it is to so many living beings, desperate to avoid death. Perhaps, long or short, it mattered how one spent that time.
The first thing most people do , when they wake up. They check their mobile to see if they are missing something. They try to be updated and to catch on what is happening in the world. Sometimes choose to log of from your social media and try to catch up with your reality. Catch up on your goals and dreams. Catch up with your family, friends and colleagues. Catch up with people around you. No matter how addictive social media is. Your on Wi-FI or how many data you have. You should never lose touch with the real world .
