Many are the things I guess we'd like to go back in time and rectify the things we didn't do right, eh?
I like to employ a form of repetition, in which the same elements recur but in different and unexpected ways. rather than being discarded as soon as they are understood or passed over.
We use our parents like recurring dreams, to be entered into when needed.
I have a recurring dream where I'm on the run for a horrible thing I did years and years ago. Like, in the dream... because the thing I did was so long ago that it's just a faint memory in my dream, so I'm sort of remembering it as I'm on the run from the police. And I'm totally guilty of it.
I grew up in the working class suburbs in the 80s so I do love Hollywood movies but what I don't like is when they take something that's successful and they recycle it.
I don't actually read that much. I like movies a bit more. That's how I come up with ideas - by seeing things, hearing things, recycling things. Stealing things!
Style-wise, Valle Nevado is what can only be described as 'hip international.' Brazilians, Chileans and Europeans make the place seem like an electronic music festival transported to an remote Andean valley. Huge speakers blare out thumping, bass-heavy music, while promotoras stalk the staircases selling everything from Red Bull to mobile phones.
If I were to reason like those who roll out red carpets, I would say we might have some repatriations from the City of London.
I feel like I'll never get over red carpets. They're so bizarre and awkward.
Stony Skunk, when they were with our company, had a song which I personally like called 'Red Light District.'
I feel like I thrive in the red light.
A splash of red wine vinegar can pull things together like a pinch of salt.
Where I came from in the country, there was no place to hear pop music like Little Richard and people like that. Later, I heard James Brown, Otis Redding, The Drifters, The Four Aces, The Ink Spots.
It would be fun to be a redhead... you can get away with being, like, really volatile and fire-y because you're like, 'I'm just a redhead; what can I say?'
I just like going against the Redskins, I guess.
I don't know, I feel like as time has gone on, hip-hop has become really redundant and repetitive.
Reese Witherspoon. She's sophisticated enough that you just like her. You like her and she's smart.
Reese Witherspoon made me better. Just working with her, being with her, I learned so much. I want to be like her.
There's something really magical about having a child - it's like permission to begin again, start over, reevaluate some things, check yourself. Recognize yourself.
I'll refer to my music in color, like 'This song needs to be bright red.'
