I don't do rehearsal. Some directors prefer to do rehearsal - readings before the actual shooting - but I don't like this process because I think there are certain things that are so spontaneous, and they cannot happen twice.
You read about somebody, and it doesn't really matter whether or not they really exist - the point is that you get into them like real characters.
I've been watching 'The Cosby Show' and 'Roseanne' a lot right now, and those work so well because they're not, like, jokey comedies; they are coming from real characters. We want our show to be like that. A family show.

You're not working with models, you're working with real women who have, like, anatomy. Models do not have anatomy.
But like everyone else I’ve come to the sad realisation food banks are an all-too-common feature on the streets of Britain.
I wanted to be a writer-performer like the Pythons. In fact, I wanted to be John Cleese, and it took me some time to realise that the job was, in fact, taken.
I like to be an optimist, but I like to be a realist, too.
I have to be realistic about what I can and can't do. So whatever I do has to really be worth it. I like to master the things I do.

I like to watch all those shows that shouldn't be on the air - reality shows.
I like physically-demanding reality shows, not dance and music shows.
