A Dream is not a Dream if you let go of it that easily. Each day I feed in more Stubborness and Grit to it. Because calling it quits will always be an option!
Maybe there are some people you can’t unlove no matter how hard you try. Maybe there are some people you stay connected to, because they’ve hurt you to your very core. You keep hoping that somehow the pain can be resolved if they finally do the right thing, but the right thing can never be done because it had to have been done in the past.
Maybe we love people forever. Maybe some relationships were derailed by time and circumstance, but somewhere in the background there was a place where that love still existed, where you were still those two people in that time.
What you still need to know is this: before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams, master the lessons we've learned as we've moved toward that dream. That's the point at which most people give up. It's the point at which, as we say in the language of the desert, one dies of thirst just when the palm trees have appeared on the horizon.
For the time being, the future may appear dim with hardly anything to live for. But it is not the end of the world. There is today to live for and a possible tomorrow yet to come. If we can learn to come to terms with present conditions whilst looking to the future, the pain may be a little more tolerable. There is hope for making tomorrow different from today.
