When people can get away with crimes just because they are wealthy or have the right connections, the scales are tipped against fairness and equality. The weight of corruption then becomes so heavy that it creates a dent that forces the world to become slanted, so much so — that justice just slips off.
Justice should be blind, but not blind with greed. The people must have faith in the fundamental fairness and impartiality of our system of justice if we are to have order in our society. Those who make a mockery of it must not go unpunished.
An intellectual human being would back up arguments with reliable evidence in order to adequately defend his or her position in debates, court cases or academia settings.
