What the soul is after is - the highest feeling of love you can imagine. This is the soul's desire. This is its purpose. The soul is after the feeling. Not the knowledge, but the feeling. It already has the knowledge, but knowledge is conceptual. Feeling is experiential. The soul wants to feel itself, and thus to know itself in its own experience. The highest feeling is the experience of unity with All That Is. This is the great return to Truth for which the soul yearns. This is the feeling of perfect love.
Manifestations of good and evil, saints and sinners, make up the world. A person can be spiritual without being religious. The religious view that a particular list of actions are right or wrong (moral absolutism) has virtually nothing to do with the fundamental realization of a person’s spiritual identity. Admirable spiritual people are generous and kind, and seek personal growth through actions devoted to creating mindfulness.
Dreams of a person, a tribe, and a culture turn into action. Reality affects our dreams and our dreams in turn shape the reality of our actions. The interplay between dreams and action produces the highest form of living. Our dreams speak to us in ghostly whispers. We contain the collective want of our ancestors inside us. We are molecular cells of humanity. We seek guidance in our daily life to produce health from the spirit world. Similar to our ancestors, we seek to restore balance and harmony in our lives through spirituality.
Society’s structure exists to maintain the power and wealth of a few privileged persons. A person must resist society’s attempts to bully him or her into living a diminished life of a conformist. I must be wary that my defining character is neither effaced nor compromised and rebuff men of weaker temperament attempting to repress my uninhibited joy for life. I need to demonstrate the inventive spirit of an opportunistic doer. I will allow myself to run wild in the eyes of the world of watchers and establish a lifestyle that allows the physical body room to flex its fibrous muscles. I shall live in a manner that enables the mind the opportunity to construct a secure shelter that encourages mental and spiritual exploration. I aspire to establish a workable balance between retreating to my private cave to seek solace and striking meaningful engagements with the larger world.
