The young and the elderly possess assets the other need. Youths have vitality and the aged have wisdom. The aged claim being young at heart while the young claim having old head on young shoulders.

And he told me that in a year or so, when he had aged enough for any man, then he would walk into the wind, until he saw the tents. This time, he said, he would go on with them.
We still need the old to tell the young that in time they will learn.
It never ceased to amaze me how she just had the facts always, in her head. It occured to me that if, or when, she died, a whole load of facts, a body of knowledge, might disappear without a trace.
