An open mind does not censor truth, it discerns it through recognition, study, doubt, and faith. It recognizes it as complimentary to every truth in existence. When confronted with truth that makes one uncomfortable give yourself time to be open, but also time to acclimatize
Nothing irks a follower of the movement more than the next word: faith. The leaders have practically diagnosed it as the worst possible thing that a sapient creature can have, and yet we all cling to it in the end. We place our trust in people, places, things, both seen and unseen, and most of the time it has served us well as a species. Faith has been a cornerstone and foundation of our species, and other of the Hominidae taxonomy for millions of years. It is the foundation of good relationships, confidence, and even discerning wisdom and truth.
We must nurture the lotus of knowledge, not play in the pond with it, and rip it apart like children. We must mature and discuss correctly what we mean by faith, by its definition and by its scientific and poetic effect on the human heart and psychology and the total nature of our humanity.
Placebo effect is where the drug causes greater effect and thereby faith accentuates, prolongs and promulgates the strength of the drug. Faith in an object that is known creates a strength in the object's reaction in a more powerful manner, provided the object was intended to create positive in the first place. Yet if this faith is turned inward in a negative manner, it can hinder the effectiveness of the drug or creative power of the thing being used for the positive, this is called the nocebo effect.
So, the first things we must do is decide which it is: A substantive and hidden thing that produces cultural symptoms or it is the meme “hypothesis” and testable. If it is not falsifiable it cannot meet the criteria of scientific fact, according to the very structure of the scientific methodology itself. This would put it in the latter category of faith-based belief systems
Deep in the psychological caves of their mental platonic darkness, there is no rainbow colour or light of reason in many areas of their psyche, their inner mind. Instead they have married themselves to a dragon of a creature, so terrible that even Jupiter feared this monstrosity of pompous ignorance. Their hope of the beauty of Cupid is just a lovemaking session in the dark room of ignorance of both science and religion.
