Silence is nice to have if you wanted it, but maddening if you didn't.
The beautiful thing about hope is that it acts exclusively of the thing being hoped for. During a dark day, the prospect of a bright tomorrow offers you strength today regardless of what tomorrow actually holds.
Success is often experienced through the absence of a past sensation rather than the presence of a new one.
I don't think something can constitute a journey unless it leaves one's world looking different than before.
I have been given so much in life merely for knowing how to ask for it.
Compassion is a function of strength.
The journey from innocence to experience is also often the journey from companionship and fellowship to isolation and solitude, because once we learn, feel, or see what we're meant to from those in our life, they go away.
Motivation for an insincere person to reform should be that their company to those in their life is inherently inferior to that of sincere people.
Once you begin to conquer your fear of failure, things that once registered as risks don't anymore.
The longer you desire something, the further the desire predicates upon your ability to obtain that thing than it does the thing itself.
Society has misconstrued romantic love and has certainly misunderstood love in general. What we believe to be romantic love is actually attachment, lust, and fear (of loss). Society preaches passion as a function of romantic love, and passion CAN be a function of love, but it functions where one demonstrates heroism, selflessness and sacrifice to benefit the life of another. It has nothing to do with touch nor sexual desire. Love is everything. Life teeters on the spectrum of love and fear. Love is multidimensional, beyond the experience of mere emotion. Love is a hand extended to the shoulder of a distressed stranger, the smile of a child, it's the gratitude towards something beyond ourselves when circumstance benefits us. Anybody who has told you that you need another being to supplement your experience of love has misguided you. To live meaningfully is to celebrate love everyday.
