Gail Honeyman

Gail Honeyman is a Scottish writer whose debut novel Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine won the 2017 Costa First Novel Award and was shortlisted for the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize. Honeyman was an insatiable reader growing up in Stirling, Scotland, visiting the library several times a week. She studied French language and literature at Glasgow University, before continuing her education at the University of Oxford for a postgraduate course in French poetry. She wrote Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine while working a full-time job as an administrator at Glasgow University. She has also been awarded the Scottish Book Trust's Next Chapter Award 2014, was longlisted for BBC Radio 4's Opening Lines, and was shortlisted for the Bridport Prize. She lives in Glasgow.
