Rosamunde Pilcher

Rosamunde Pilcher was a British writer of romance novels, women's fiction, and short stories. In 1949, her first book was published under the pseudonym Jane Fraser. In 1996, her novel Coming Home won the Romantic Novel of the Year Award by Romantic Novelists' Association. Her novels have sold over 60 million copies worldwide. Pilcher was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2002. Pilcher had two daughters and two sons, and fourteen grandchildren. Her son, Robin Pilcher, is also a novelist. She retired from writing in 2000.
