James Dover Grant, popularly known by his pen name Lee Child, is a British author of thriller novels. His first novel, Killing Floor, won both the Anthony Award and the Barry Award for Best First Novel. His most notable work, for which he is best known, is the Jack Reacher series which chronicles the adventures of a former American military policeman. The novel series has been adapted for a successful film series starring Tom Cruise in the lead role, and James himself made a cameo appearance in the movie as a police desk sergeant.
