He is popular for his Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, the story of a twelve-year-old Percy Jackson who discovers he is the son of Poseidon, Greek God of the Sea. Riordan has authored several #1 New York Times bestselling books, including the children's book The Maze of Bones. His books have been translated into over forty-two languages and have sold more than thirty million copies in the US and 20th Century Fox has adapted his Percy Jackson series into a series of films. His works have inspired and have been adapted into other media, such as graphic novels and short story collections.
